Mutant

I'm convinced my tomato plant is a mutant. I think it grows an inch every time I look away. So of course I had to take a picture for you.

In other news, I made this awesome English muffin bread. It tastes fantastic. I finished 3/4 of a loaf in about a day.

Well, I should be going to work now, so see you later!

Summertime!

Blue Skies
It's been much longer than I thought since I last posted.
College was pretty intense this year, and I dropped most extraneous things (like, sadly, this) in order to keep up, but now its summertime and time for fun!

I do have a summer job doing research at my college, but there's plenty of time to do lots of things outside of work!

Including drowning in heat with no air conditioning...

I currently have my own "apartment style" dorm room, and even though all my stuff can fit into a "single" room, it feels much better spreading it all out. I've got a stove-oven unit and a full sized fridge and freezer! (You might be seeing some recipes)

My apartment may not be all mine, though. I have at least three weeks of not knowing if a roommate is going to pop in. I'll get no warning, so that means I have to keep things fairly clean...

How am I doing?

Don't worry, you'll be hearing from me soon!

But first I should probably put up that shade.
And clean those dishes.
And vacuum the floor... I'm going to just stop listing things now.

Forgetful

I feel like I've neglected my baby! I want to stroke my blog and tell it that everything is okay... but that's a little creepy, or at least excessive.

I've had good reason though. Namely homework and beading.

But I did go on another trip for my botany class, and got some more pretty pictures!

And my beading pictures came out well too, so here's some of both!

Field Trip!

I went on a field trip to Gay City State Park in CT yesterday! It was gorgeous!

Although this isn't at all a clear picture, I think its really neat!
This is the reason why I was at the park! Good ole bryophytes!

Isn't it lovely!!!

My Missing Inspiration Has Returned!

I feel triumphant!

Okay, that may be an exaggeration. I feel inspired.

College classes can be quite inspiring. Who knew?

I was sitting in my class on Southern Gothic Stories, and I was thinking about the necklaces that the dead sister from the Fall of the House of Usher would wear. For me it was a logical transition.

So I made some jewelry...

Here's some of the finished pieces. Three anklets, and a necklace. The amber and red anklet is going to be named Honey and Jam and the green one Kiwi. Can you sense a theme? The final anklet will probably be called Driftwood. I don't know yet about the necklace. Something to deal with hearts, like the detail on the pendant.
Here's some of my works in progress. The anklet is going to be called Hint of Lavender, I think, but I'm not sure what the necklaces will be called.

And here's some of the stuff I made for myself recently!Ain't it purdy? The amber one is an anklet, and the crocheted one is a cuff.
Well, that's all for me this time!

Missed Sunsets

Don't you just hate when you miss a sunset? When all you can see is the pink behind some trees, but didn't get to see it blazing above you?

That was me tonight. So I got some nice pictures of the trees. For a college campus, these are some mighty fine trees.

But there's a tiny glimmer of pink next to the building. Enough to keep me satisfied until tomorrow!
